After Inconclusive Alaska Summit with Putin, Trump to Host Zelenskyy in Washington on Monday
“U.S. President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy remain at the center of global attention as Washington prepares for high-stakes talks following the inconclusive Alaska summit.”

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on Saturday that he will meet US President Donald Trump in Washington on Monday, just days after Trump’s high-profile but inconclusive Alaska summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Zelenskyy told reporters that he had a “long, meaningful” phone call with Trump, following the Alaska meeting, which ended without any concrete agreement to end the Russia-Ukraine war.

The Alaska talks, marking Putin’s first visit to Western soil since the 2022 invasion of Ukraine, failed to deliver a breakthrough. Despite the lack of progress, Trump emphasized that there was still “nascent progress” while warning, “there’s no deal until there’s a deal.”

Putin, on the other hand, claimed that he and Trump had reached an “understanding” on Ukraine but cautioned Europe against undermining the fragile process.

Before departing Alaska, Trump told Fox News that advancing peace could “fall more on Zelenskyy to get it done,” while also hinting at a bigger role for European nations in facilitating future negotiations.

With Zelenskyy now set to arrive in Washington, global attention will be on the White House meeting to see if it can revive stalled peace talks and provide a clearer roadmap to resolving the ongoing conflict.
